RANGER OPEN HOUSE
October 13, 2007
We
were once again greeted with storybook fall weather the morning of
our Open Hous e.
Volunteers hustled to get the barn in tip top shape in anticipation
of this year's visitors. Refreshments were a plenty and door
prizes were arranged. Several horses were brought in to
the barn for some extra grooming and interaction with our guests.
After
departing from the Harley Davidson shop in Frederick, MD, our
friends with the Baltimore Blood Brother's Motorcycle group arrived
at the farm shortly after noon. While visiting the horses,
everyone
enjoyed hot dogs, sausages, cider and baked goods aplenty in the
barn.
As
visitors mingled the barn and surrounding paddocks, volunteers were
able to explain the history of each service horse and how they came
to Ranger. Our resident ham,
Kit, performed is "tongue trick"
for anyone who would supply him with a treat. One
special motorcycle rider got a chance to give "Tom"
a spin around the round pen.
Quite
different than his Harley Davidson!
Throughout
the day raffle tickets were sold for the quilt, a throw and 50/50.
Information about the organization and sign up sheets to volunteer
were provided by helpful volunteers. Everyone at the
Ranger Foundation was thrilled with the interest displayed of each
visitor as well as their overall encouragement and generosity.
As
always the
Board of Directors, volunteers and horses of the Ranger Foundation,
Inc. wholeheartedly appreciate the time and donations of the Blood
Brother's Motorcycle Club as well as every visitor of our Open
House. We understand that their are many worthwhile
organizations in need of support and we're glad you chose us!
THANK
YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL EVENT! |
