How
horse came to Ranger: Winnie was lent to the
Star Equestrian Center for
use in their therapeutic riding program.
After a successful career as a favorite ride, Winnie had to
be sadly retired due to troubling arthritis. Winnie
was delivered to Ranger August 16, 2007.
Interesting characteristics
or anecdotes: Winnie was selected as Maryland
Therapy Horse of the Year in 2005. This title is
awarded to the horse that earns the highest
class points for all the Special Olympic weekend shows
for the year. Winnie was also featured in the story "A True
Horsewoman" published in Dressage Today, June 2007
