Name:
Mount
Pleasant Ebbtide also know as Ebby, formerly nicknamed
"Speedy Gonzales"
Date
of Birth: 1968
Breed:
Morgan horse
How
horse came to Ranger: Ebby had a long
career under saddle, first as a show pony then as a girls
riding school mount. Prior to coming to the Ranger Foundation
in February 2003, he was a good solid and reliable therapeutic riding horse
at Hope Springs Equestrian Therapy in Chester Springs, PA.
Interesting characteristics
or anecdotes: According
to a former owner, Ebby
was used at a camp where he would swim in a river with
children on his back! Prior to being gelded, he was
quite a handful, disliking men and the farrier.
Special
care needs: Ebby has a mild case of heaves but
medication has not been needed to date. He also is
allergic to something in his diet or environment.
However, we found that he has done much better this
year after eliminating soy from his diet.
Favorite
Ranger Buddies: Ebby likes to hang out with Gary
Owens
and Poco.
