Name:
Santa Inez (Nina to us) Date
of Birth:
1979
Breed:
Chestnut Argentinean bred Polo pony
How
horse came to Ranger: In Fall of 2001, Nina
came from Valley Forge Military Academy. She came in a
big rig and had her own stall area because they said she
absolutely could not be tied.
Interesting characteristics
or anecdotes: Nina
spent
years playing polo for Valley Forge Military Academy. Originally
she was valued at $27,000
when she was donated to the school. She reportedly just one
day quit playing polo, she told all involved she was done. Sometimes
temperamental and definitely hard to catch she has
been the favorite horse of one of our young teenage girl volunteers.
Once caught she seems to adore the grooming attention lavished
on her by Amanda.
Nina has a
perfectly round indentation in her face bone beneath an eye
that looks like she was once hit square in the face with a
polo ball. We do have her vet records noting a swollen
place under an eye one year and she had many many leg injuries
over the years.
Special
care needs:
Favorite
Ranger Buddies: Nina's buddies are Patti
and
Princess.
Sponsorship:
Nina needs a sponsor. Find
