The
Ranger Foundation, Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit group
in the State of Maryland in October 2001. Located in Washington
County Maryland, the organization received its Letter of Determination
from the Internal Revenue Service in June 2002, officially
approving our status as a charitable organization under Section
501(c)3. The advanced ruling period ends December 2005.
The
Ranger Foundation is a wholly volunteer organization that
is financed by donations from generous individuals, by an
occasional small grant, and by the efforts of volunteers holding
a variety of fundraising events. Occasionally we receive much
needed donated items from individuals and businesses.
The
facility (Greenbriar Farm) on which the Ranger Foundation
is located is owned by Howard and Ann Corcoran and a lease
agreement governs this arrangement.
The
Ranger Foundation, Inc. is governed by a Board of Directors
made up of individuals who participate regularly in our volunteer
program. The present Board includes Ann Corcoran, Pres. (acorco9104@aol.com),
Diana Mullendore, VP (dianamullendore@yahoo.com),
Lynn DiCarlo, Sec./Treas. (lynndi@myactv.net), Susan Simonson, webmaster,
and Barbara Kraft.
Board
meetings are held quarterly and anyone wishing to present
ideas is encouraged to attend, contact Ann above if you are
interested in attending.
The
Board of Directors of the Ranger Foundation meets regularly
with other rescue and horse welfare non-profit organizations
in Maryland and surrounding states to keep up with the latest
horse issues. They also work together to make improvements
in the horse industry.
